Description
Founded in 1802, the United States Military Academy at West Point is one of the nation’s leading institutions. To support the Academy’s current cadet recruitment and retention initiatives and enhance existing athletic facilities, Cannon Design was commissioned to develop a comprehensive sports master plan. Encompassing 13 indoor and outdoor facilities as well as venues supporting 25 varsity sports and intramural and club programs, the master plan thoroughly evaluated program demands on the Academy’s infrastructure and historic context as well as physical education and community recreation needs, with the overall goal of consolidating all of the Academy’s sports activities despite steep terrain and limited building area.
