Description
This expansion program for research facilities housed in the Center for Life Science Boston, will facilitate growth of the hospital’s endocrine, genetics, and genomics programs, as well as a shared genomics instrumentation core—facilitating groundbreaking research and development of treatments for obesity, muscular dystrophies, and neurological illnesses.
The design team collaborated closely with the hospital to define and document consistent research facility standards campus wide. The design utilizes modular laboratory bench arrangements and interchangeable room functions that maximize flexibility and adaptability to evolving research requirements. Program elements are also strategically located to maximize daylight to social spaces and laboratories while preventing light leakage into sensitive laser and microscopy rooms.
